Like a deeply rooted oak tree kindness is a constant Though the wind & rain should hurl their threats & rattle her branches She remains calm & steady Down go her roots into the earth & up she lifts her head into the sky Seasons pass through her & strengthen her substance
Many species of life rise & fall all around her Each one a witness to & a beneficiary of her compassionate care Some would grow up around her body & threaten to consume her to take for themselves her substance (but can kindness be received in this way?)
Abundantly she gives & in the giving she quenches an infinite thirst No, you cannot exhaust or consume kindness She is a constant Eternally rooted in the soil of love
