I find myself seeking external validation.
Reaching for love.
Frozen in a place of longing.
The incense burns to dust & the clock ticks away, still the answers don’t come & the ache in my heart remains.
Maybe the need isn’t meant to be satiated but to be felt.
I need.
I long.
I am not filled.
I am empty, & I embrace this emptiness.
This hunger.
This restlessness.
I open myself to it all.
All that I haven’t allowed myself to feel.
And though I cannot now see the fruits of this opening & allowing, I know that I am expanding my capacity to feel the depths of joy as well as this sorrow.
Because to open to the pain is to open to the bliss.
And as Carl Jung said,
“The Tree that would grow to heaven must send its roots to hell.”
