Today was a gray, cloudy day

A fog billowed up from the deep

A clawing & gnawing away

At what I can no longer keep

A stone on life’s beaded adornment

A crash of a wave on a shore

What’s a cloud but a cluster of rain drops?

What’s a wave but the same down below?

Like the rain, days like these fall upon us

Fall to rise once again, having touched us

One more time to awaken our souls

Is it not that the cloud is a contrast -

There to break up the sky into art?

Is it not that the loss makes you lighter?

Learn to revel in clouds & in darkness

Learn to dance when you’re caught in the rain

All is one, & the pain & the gladness

They are one - they are one & the same
